Jancis Robinson tasting notes

Ch d’Esclans 2012 Côtes de Provence (6 Jun 2013 by RH)
Significantly better than the Whispering Angel tasted immediately before. Lovely purity. Really good clarity and roundness. Nutty notes. Long.

Ch d’Esclans, Les Clans 2011 Côtes de Provence (23 Jul 2013 by RH)
Very pretty salmon pink. Oak is strongly evident on the palate, but there is certainly enough fruit involved. Just enough acidity, bone dry finish, long and creamy – the bâtonnage element has really had an effect. It’s really great that rosé has this kind of wine in the category – something to aspire to.

Ch d’Esclans, Déesse 2011 Vin de Pays du Var (28 Apr 2013 by JR)
Mainly Syrah and Merlot given kid glove treatment. Bright crimson. Very ‘cool’ nose with fine tannins after sweet palate entry. Obviously very carefully vinified. A tad tart and chewy on the finish. Not ready yet.
