MONEY WEEK "Four top reds for Chistmas… plus a Rosé…" by Matthew Jukes

2006 Château d’Esclans, Whispering Angel Rosé, Côtes de Provence, France

This is one of the finest rosés ever made. Sacha Lichine (of great bordeaux wine lineage) and Patrick Léon (of Château Mouton-Rothschild fame) have shifted the paradigm with this delicious style of wine. This rosé is made from old Grenache vines with a dash of white grape Rolle to bring the nose to new heights. It is a refreshing, wild strawberry-scented wine that packs a red wine-style punch of flavour, while looking innocent and pale slamon-coloured in the glass. Perfect for all-day glugging and hugely talented when it comes to food – even turkey!
