THE CORK CHRONICLES- Winesday #WW Review: Whispering Angel

Summer has arrived in force with temperatures approaching 100 degrees and sweltering humidity. But, I’m not complaining! With longer days and hotter temperatures come lighter moods, food, and wine. Whether you’re sitting outside on the porch or trying to stay cool in the A/C, sipping on a cool, crisp glass of wine perfects the moment. Chateau D’Esclans, Whispering Angel, Rosé, Provence 2010 is the quintessential summer wine. As its name suggests, it is light and lovely. On the nose, there were wafts of strawberry, melon, white flowers and citrus. The palate picked up a lot of strawberry, kiwi, grapefruit, mineral, and straw. This rosé’s considerable acidity was well balanced by its high alcohol content, complementing food very well. And, it was absolutely divine paired with lobster tails, corn on the cob, and salad.
Whispering Angel Rose is perfect for summer. I give it an A. Try it, and let me know what you think in the comments.
