With summer heating up and June’s Westchester Magazine’s Wine & Food Festival right around the corner, Justin Kemp, at Varmax Liquor Pantry, talked to us about which rosés to watch for this summer — before, after, and during the festival.
Whispering Angel, 2016, Chateau d’Esclans, Cotes de Provence
Fair enough, Whispering Angel is a big seller. And yet, the wine has merits, says Kemp. It’s classic, crisp, and this year rounded with a nice, firm texture. There are plenty of strawberry and raspberry tones, as is typical of Provence, and there’s a nice floral note and a hint of minerality. $19.99
